Thanksgiving Testimony

by

I am so thankful that there is a place to go to, when the electricity and phone lines have failed and I can not seem to find God, on my own. During this time of year many people go home to reunite with family and friends and enjoy the warmth and love of the season. Until my trip to the Plainfield Church, there was no such place for me. My family does not get together for the Holidays and I have been missing that sense of home, where you are greeted with warm smiles and pleasant conversation. Last weekend, when I was able to be with my new family and friends, it overwhelmingly filled that void. I am so thankful that there is a place, that radiates God’s Love so perfectly, that it fulfills It’s purpose of uplifting the race and rousing the dormant understanding. A place where brotherly love is so apparent it could not be misinterpreted or pushed aside by doubt. It is truly a place that is held in the hand of Principle and can not be denied the Christ Presence. I am so thankful for the sacrifices of so many that have learned Christian Science within it’s walls, and established a place to work from, that brings an enormous amount of Love, so that I too may be lifted out of the carnal mind. I would be spending years, struggling along without that inspiration or hope of success. For me, there is no greater Joy or sense of Home, then being in the Christ Presence that is so abundant in the Plainfield Church. God does not leave us hoping for such a place, He provides it to us. Neither does He extinguish the sun and tell us to read about the light that fills all spaces, nor does He remove the lighthouse from the rocky shores.

I am so thankful to be a part of this Church and to learn and grow in the Science in the true manner in which, Mrs. Eddy has sacrificed so much for, to awaken us from our sleep, and fulfill God’s Purpose.
