Feelings of Unworthiness and Uselessness Lifted Through Prayer

Lenni, NC

I want to express my gratitude for our lesson writers. The quality of the lessons written at Plainfield are so outstanding that I almost don’t have adequate words. I’m particularly grateful for this week’s lesson, the topic being: Are Sin, Disease, and Death Real? It really spoke to me and has helped me get out from under what felt like just a wave of feelings of unworthiness and uselessness that had attacked my thought recently. The Golden Text specifically was like a balm when I read: (talking about God) He hath not dealt with us after our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.” (Psalm 103: 10) And I think I’d been feeling like a lack of progress or healing had to be due maybe to my sins and iniquities – kind of like a lifetime of accumulation; that somehow I hadn’t cleared my ledger with God. And just reading that – He hath not dealt with us after our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities – it just blew that away and really helped cut through this angst that had swamped me and it healed my heart to read. It also gave me the impetus to call my practitioner, which I hadn’t done in a while, in order to get help, so I am grateful for the breaking of that mesmerism as well, because I’ve already felt an improvement since doing that. So again, that brings me back to my gratitude for this lesson and all our lessons and those who write them, and for our beautiful Wednesday readings.
