Boil Healed

Recently I was in a difficult situation while caring for a person who is in a dire physical situation with much pain and on top of that experiencing another acute pain from a boil. The individual was very discouraged and that state of mortal mind wanted to infect me as well. A practitioner from this church was informed and did pray for both of us. I also was fed by the daily calendar email. Several of the links to articles and recordings did help me, especially the article called “Your Own Thought” which is attributed to Mary Baker Eddy. It says quote “Whoever sees another less than the image of God, defaces his vision of the excellence of his own true being and of the righteousness of God. Whoever declares another’s fallen condition, admits his own.” This and much more from this article made me feel the Love of God for me and the other person and I became deeply and humbly aware of the genuine, good state of man, the reflection of the One Life, Truth and Love. The discouragement wanted to come up again and again, but each time, I went back to the recordings and the texts and disciplined my thought. In this process I received a glimpse of what it means to reject the error, but love the person.

I sometimes feel resentment because I think the other person could do more to help themselves instead of being discouraged. But a sentence in the article helped me to see the situation in a different light. Quote “When you see error, you must destroy the seeming power for all, as well as for yourself. I heal you because I heal myself.” This was pretty sobering, and I felt, I can’t blame another for the error I see in them. I only can put it out in my own thought.

After 2 days the boil was not painful anymore and less swollen. The belief that only a surgeon would be able to take this boil away, was dissolved. I am forever grateful for the payers of the practitioner and the articles. Thanks to Christ Jesus and Mary Baker Eddy and this lovely meeting. Thanks for the great readings.
