Protection During a Wasps Swarm

Mara, MS.

I recently had a beautiful experience of God’s protection that I’m so thankful for and wanted to share tonight.

One morning this past weekend, I was taking care of my two newest ducklings. Although they look like they are fully grown already, they’re actually just a few months old. While I was outside near them, I moved an old pool filter that was in the way and accidentally disturbed a wasps’ nest that was inside it.

I had just finished reading the weekly Bible lesson and spending some quiet time in prayer, so I was feeling especially close to God. As soon as the wasps started to swarm, I ran into the house, but I wasn’t afraid. I felt completely protected by God and His love. And I was totally fine!

I left before I could refill the ducks’ food and water, and from the window I could see the poor ducklings looking confused, now surrounded by the wasps. I became concerned because I didn’t want them to get hurt by the wasps, so I prayed and reminded myself that both the wasps and the ducklings are God’s creations. They are both useful, good, peaceful, and meant to coexist and not hurt each other.

Sure enough, a few minutes later, the wasps just flew off and left the ducks completely unharmed! I was able to go back out and get them their food and water, feeling so thankful for God’s protection, not just for me but my ducks as well!

I am so grateful for all that I’m learning how to use Christian Science for any and every situation we are confronted with. Thank you to my practitioner and everyone at Plainfield for all you do!
