Invasive Surgery No Longer Needed After Prayer

I thank our dearest most loving God for His infinite care, compassion and Grace. Although I had always loved our dear God; and although I recognised and was healed by Christian Science when God brought me to it as a young adult, I did not really understand the significance of what it is, and who Mary Baker Eddy is until many years later. At that time I went on receiving more prayers than giving my prayer to the holy cause of Christian Science. You see, I was a most stubborn and wilful soul – I was extremely self-righteous. Yet, even a stubborn one such as I – was lifted into God’s gracious Love and care, and today it is the sublime, Divine eternal Love of God gives me such great joy! The realisation of who Mrs Eddy is and that everything written in Science and Health is the absolute Truth of God is stunning, remarkable and utterly unforgettable!

At this independent Christian Science church I have been overjoyed to learn more each day of the significance of all that we are given in Mary Baker Eddy’s pure Christian Science – the precious Love that has been entrusted to us by the dear Father. One of the many helpful teachings at this church has been learning about the purity of praying without human personality, which I had not understood before coming to this church. Recently I prayed for a dear young woman in this way. She was to have a very invasive and dangerous operation. I prayed for her, a simple pure prayer of Love “Dear Father this disease is a LIE! This beautiful young woman is supernal freshness, she has no such invented deformity! It is not true for her, it is not true for me, it is not true for any of your dear children!” After that, I went on with other work and whenever I thought of her I knew her to be strong without blemish of any kind. I saw her recently, three weeks after that prayer – and guess what? After extensive ultrasound intrusions, materia medica said they could no longer find the problem and she did not need to have that operation! What a joyous blessing! When I told her I prayed for her she just beamed, she knew something special had happened. In thinking of this afterwards, I realised it is the teaching that we have at this dear independent Christian Science church that has done this – opened us to the reality that God Almighty made all, He maintains all, He cares, blesses, protects and makes perfect every single child of His own creation. And as we are in fact spiritual, there are no material surfaces on which disease could appear – I’m paraphrasing Peter V. Ross there, a wonderful early worker and practitioner. It is truly humbling to know that it is all God! He made all – He moves all – He does all – He is All. We are only asked to strive to know Him and obey Him who made All – our great good and loving Father-Mother God! Thank you Christ Jesus – Thank you Mary Baker Eddy!
