God Sent an Angel to Help
Lydia, Texas
We were on vacation in Bermuda last week. We headed out for the day. At the bus stop, there was a big sign that read, “Live, love, and learn.” I had no idea what was just about to unfold. After being on the bus for a while, we realized we had boarded the wrong bus and needed to get off. We were clueless about what our next move should be. We attempted to cross the road to head back towards our hotel, but the traffic was incredibly heavy, and we couldn’t get a cab to stop to pick us up.
I began to affirm, I am open and receptive to God’s infinite love, knowing we are not lost in Spirit and nothing could block our good. I thought so much about how my practitioner tells me not to engage in the fear but to know, believe, and trust that you are never alone. Incredibly, a miracle began to happen.
A gentleman stopped in the middle of the traffic, rolled his window down, and asked, “Are you okay? Do you need help?” We explained our situation as quickly as possible. Without hesitation, he said, “I will take you. Get in.” My first thought was, “Is this a safe thing to do? Should we get in his car?” I kept affirming, “We are not alone. God’s love is here, right here, right now, directing us every step of the way.” We did get into his car.
As we began to speak about visiting for the first time and how we were enjoying our time there, he was so pleasant, friendly. He told us his name is Ali I asked him what he does for work. He said he was a police officer and was off duty that day and had just dropped off his wife at her job. In that instant, I internally breathed a sigh of relief.
We had such a wonderful conversation. He shared that he was born in England and he had just dropped his wife off at her job at the hospital. He refused to accept any money for the ride. He said he loved to help people and it was his pleasure to do so. He said, “Just say a prayer for me. My wife and I are expecting our first child in a month.” With tears in my eyes, I told him we would be praying for him, his wife, and the birth of their baby. I told him that he was an angel and we were grateful that he stopped to help us.
In that moment, I felt such peace and love that this was not a mere coincidence, but the profound presence of God was at the center of the entire situation. And I will always remember Ali and his kindness. God truly is all in all. So very thankful for this awesome demonstration.
I am so very grateful for all the truth I’m learning from Christian Science. Grateful for Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, and for my practitioner, and all the prayer support that she shares with me; for this church and the wonderful people who work tirelessly to share these principles. Thank you everyone.
