Sorrow Turned to Joy
Elizabeth, NH
I wanted to express my gratitude for Christian Science, for Mary Baker Eddy and her amazing discovery and perseverance to bring the world this practical Science, to Christ Jesus for his humble and loving example, and to God for all that He Is and does! A couple of weeks after my mother’s passing, I found myself very low one day, feeling a bit lost and slogging around. The voice inside my head (the serpent, in this case) said, “Well, you can go easy on yourself. It’s OK to feel this way.”(Well, and to interject, my mother was a real softy, but she would see this thinking instantly as erroneous and not allow it for a second!) and now back to the day I testify of. Pretty much as soon as I allowed myself to be depressed – wow, now that was a rabbit hole I never should have gone down, the result being, I basically had no desire to function whatsoever. I think we’ve all been there, and I thought I had learned this – NOT to come out of the Father’s House (the consciousness of all good). Certainly, it was not God suggesting that it was “OK” for me to feel a little sad. Well, when I realized that I had been tricked, I jumped up, claimed my true identity as always strong, courageous, and always joyous!! These qualities are my God-given right! Mrs Eddy says in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, “An acknowledgment of the perfection of the infinite unseen confers a power nothing else can”. This power (God), when acknowledged, takes over, and you see this perfection right before your eyes. Truth is real and is the only reality! So grateful! The Christ message (God’s angels) raises us up and gives us the will to go forward. Thy will be done.
