Employment Found

P. D., NYC

Here is my testimony which as you say I hope it helps another that may find him/herself in the same situation.

This year has been a very challenging year for me. I lost my job of six years standing at the end of February and found myself doing temporary work until April. I landed a good job salary wise but the atmosphere in the office was far from edifying and was plagued with lots of antagonism and disorganization. After spending 3 months there I found myself in another job which was no better than the first and deeply offended my sense of ethics and what was morally right. I was “pressured” to disguise the truth of situations in order to obtain clients and to make promises I knew very well were not going to be kept. I felt heartsick and very depressed everyday for the past 3 months have been a struggle to get out of bed and go to work. I pride myself in always doing a good day’s work and in my integrity and fairness when dealing with prospective clients. I found out in the past that it is never good to hide or use subterfuge to attract clients as it always will create resentment and lost of trust.

I again started the dismal task of sending out resumes and contacting headhunters. I also integrated prayer as it has helped me in the past. However, this time I also contacted a Christian Science practitioner from Plainfield Independent Christian Science Church to help me and know the Truth about my relationship with God and to know I’m always provided by our Father/Mother God. The practitioner was very loving and asked me to know that “God had a right place for me”, she also directed me to read the article called “Place” by Mrs. Eddy and is listed on the web site of the Church. Together we prayed to know that man is always provided by God and “Spirit duly feeds and clothes every object, as it appears in the line of spiritual creation, thus tenderly expressing the fatherhood and motherhood of God”. I was also directed to read the Plainfield Bible Lesson daily and to ponder on the message therein contained.

The result to make this story short, I obtained an interview with a company that I was very interested in (that very evening!) I had first a telephonic interview which always gives me apprehension as they can only form an opinion of you by the way you speak and conduct yourself on the phone Again the practitioner was contacted prior to the interview. I was reminded God gave me a “presence, and certainty and a position” (Martha Wilcox) and everything went smoothly, I found myself invited then and there to have a face to face interview with the Vice president and a manager of the company. I went and again fortified by the practitioner’s treatment and my affirmations from the Bible Lesson , 1 Cor 2:9 As it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him”. and from S&H pg 102:13 15 “Man, reflecting God’s power, has dominion over all the earth and its hosts”. I found myself interviewing with a poise and calmness that heretofore were unknown to me, ( I usually become a bundle of nerves when interviewing) the result of the meeting was that, the manager offered me the job right there and then and immediately started the process of hiring me. I left the place feeling so grateful and humbled by God’s care for us His children. I immediately communicated the good news to the practitioner that has been so patient and supportive during my anxiety and despondency.

I’m so grateful for this great Science and I’m so grateful for the Plainfield Independent Christian Science Church and their practitioners.

One of the added benefits in this position is that I will be able to walk to work and back it is that close from where I live.

I hope this will be of help for anyone out there looking for a job or finding themselves despondent about life in general. Prayer does help!!! and knowing God as our loving and always providing Father/Mother!!

I’m thankful for the practitioner and I’m thankful to be a member of the Plainfield Independent Christian Science Church.
