Yielding to God Brings Peace
Imogene, Australia
I am so grateful for all the lessons shared in the testimony meetings through all the wonderful accounts shared that have often paralleled my own, from big things to the sweet little things. We know that only one God can speak in such a way so that many can see the hand of God. As was taught at the Roundtable on Sunday, we don’t focus on human suffering in Christian Science, but I have found in my life that it is often through human suffering that we “win and wear the crown” as Mrs. Eddy phrased it. I am truly grateful for all the trials that I have lived through on the bumpy human road. I am so grateful for all the terrible things that happened in life from a material perspective because each one of those trials simply forced me to turn to God because I had nowhere else to go. My arguments and arrogance forced me to yield to God’s love through these experiences to find our God, who is always waiting to be acknowledged. So that He is heard in our hearts and we each know that our hairs are all numbered by the dear Father who loves us, just as the Bible says. I am so grateful for the loving God found in Christian Science that Mary Baker Eddy revealed to us all. Thank you to each and every one of these dear and courageous testifiers. Thank you for sharing your sweet moments and also those moments of struggle that opened the door to God and gave the unforgettable commune with God that was needed to heal the situation. Our God of love found in Christian Science truly brings the calm of Shekinah. Mary Baker Eddy writes, “Sorrow has its reward. It never leaves us where it found us.” So to any dear one, any dear soul who is suffering, sorrowing, sad, or hurting in any way, I would say just close your eyes to it all and look only to God, love him with every shred of your being, love him with every good thing that you have to give and he will come to you. He will heal all this, I know. Over decades in my life, Christian Science has proven to me that be it joy or sorrow we are one more footstep close to God each day that we love him. Thank you to our dear testifiers for sharing your love of God with us. Thank you, God; thank you, Christ Jesus; thank you, Mary Baker Eddy, and thank you to our holy practitioners at this church for teaching us how to love God better.
