Roundtable on “Soul” Inspires Self Improvement
Jenna from Chile
A few weeks ago, two testimonies were given about finding just the right clothes, and in the process, it was evident that God was present. I really appreciated those testimonies because they made me realize how often I have been led to exactly the right thing lately, too. A few months ago, a Roundtable on the Bible Lesson topic, Soul, talked about beautifying space. There was an article shared about a person taking slow steps to beautify an office and how one thing led to another. The space was transformed, and even the business improved. This really has stuck with me, and since then, I have been led to improve my space by improving my outward appearance. I do not mean this in a vain kind of way. I had spent about eight years living almost with nothing, really, just some backpacks full of books. All my clothes had been bought, used in street markets, or given to me by friends and family. They were not necessarily things that improved my appearance. They were just what I had, and I was grateful to have them. When I had the chance to start buying clothing again, I really didn’t even know how to start. I felt like I no longer even knew how to put myself together in a nice, kind of way. But as I said, the idea that we are expressions of Soul, God, and Soul is beautiful, really impacted me. I finally had direction. I wanted to express Soul. Little by little, small steps have been taken that are God-led and helping me improve the way I present myself. Just like the other testimonies, the process of buying the small things I need has been a joy, and very often they are on sale. When I put these things on, I have a sense that this is just for me instead of just something I bought. I am really grateful for this, and it blesses me everyday. All of this made me remember another time that God led me to just the right thing.
