Work Project Delay Lifted After Prayer
Imogene, Australia
I am very grateful for the Unity Watch Prayer that is taught and practiced at this church. I work in the field of digital learning, creating video tutorials and evaluations for workplace learning. We had a deadline that day to compress and finalize two very dense video learning pieces. It is a tricky field, comprising layers of videos, graphics, voiceovers, and programming, and I have found that it is always God pushing the boundaries for us so that we can achieve the perfect finish on the work. On the day of the unity watch, July 10th, I was wrapping up the day’s work ahead of my allocated watch time. The digital compression feature had been stalling for a couple of hours, which is a common issue in this line of work. To resolve the issue, you must reprogram and reconfigure the content so that it compresses and finalizes for use in the workplace.
I had earlier called in for the Unity Watch that day. So as this digital stalling in my work was going on, a practice that we are taught here – not to react humanly when things go wrong, but rather recognise that God has already given the solution to any problem, I only need to be open to God’s messages throughout each day. In this frame of mind, I decided to press play on the watch prayer I had recorded earlier that day. I marvelled as the recorded prayer came to this quote: “All of mortal mind is a claim of electricity, …. a claim of positive and negative, a claim of good and evil, mind and matter, love and hate, … and you should handle the claim of electricity in all of your thinking. ‘I cannot be negatively electrified.’” And neither can anyone else! Man is immune from mortal mind’s so-called influence in any form.” From Watches, Prayers, and Arguments, given by Mary Baker Eddy, page 64
With the wonderful idea of positive electricity, no negative consequences on any digital device to slow God’s goodness, God made all things, all of creation and every avenue of communication, digital, electrical, technological and as we are taught here – God’s good cannot be delayed in being manifest now. Well, guess what? Within seconds of that realization, the compression program sped up and finalized the first piece immediately, quicker than I have seen in many years working in this field. Then the second piece was finalised a couple of minutes later. And that was it. All our deadlines had been met; no overtime was required, and I didn’t have to work late after dinner to finish the work, as I had often done with this kind of work in years past. And all this was completed about five minutes before my allocated watch time. God is truly magnificent, and thank you for the watch prayer- “I cannot be negatively electrified,” and neither can anyone else!
I am so grateful to Mary Baker Eddy – for her love, fortitude, and patience to write it all down for us. I am so grateful for Christian Science; it is a daily joy to be learning at this church. I am so grateful for this dear Independent church and our holy practitioners, so that we can keep learning, living, and practicing pure Christian Science.
