Listening to God During Negotiation Meeting Provides Financial Protection
Lynda, NJ
I want to express my gratitude this evening for God’s infallible direction and care. I found myself in a situation that required me to seek the help of a professional during a negotiation.
I was working regularly with my Plainfield practitioner, and she was helping me step by step to understand the principles of Christian Science, how to apply them, and to gain a greater understanding of God. The situation I found myself in was demanding of my skills and knowledge of things that I was unfamiliar with, and on top of that, I was feeling very distressed.
At one point during the negotiation, I was advised to take a specific financial route, based on her professional experience in the field and standard industry practices. At the time, I remember getting a clear sense that I should not go in that direction. When I told her what I wanted to do, she let me know that she didn’t think it was a good idea and didn’t recommend it. However, I couldn’t ignore the promptings I was getting to take this other direction, despite all the information and scenarios I had been presented. We proceeded in the direction I had requested, and I felt great peace, despite the misgivings expressed around me.
About four years after this, the wisdom of following this direction became strikingly clear. If I had not followed the leadings God was giving me, I would have lost a great deal of money. There was no way humanly we could’ve predicted this, based on what we knew of the situation at the time.
I know that this outcome was solely the result of my practitioner’s prayers and her teaching me how to listen to God, which led to that protection. Taking a stand in obedience to the voice directing me was one of the early healings leading me away from my bad habit of deferring to others to make decisions rather than listening to God. This protection was more than just saving money; it was an undeniable example of the need to listen to the still, small voice.
When I look back and see how this unfolded, I can’t help but kneel in gratitude to our all-knowing Father-Mother God, for the teachings of Christ Jesus, Mary Baker, Eddy, and this precious Church.
