Ankle Pain Healed

J. D. – California

One evening I developed a very painful ankle. The pain kept me awake much of the night, and in the morning I called a Plainfield practitioner for help. In the course of the conversation, it was uncovered that I had missed listening to the Wednesday evening service that week because of a personal obligation I felt I needed to fulfill. This had been very upsetting to me, and while I was feeling resentful about missing the service, I twisted and injured my ankle. Once this was uncovered, the pain began to subside. I was asked to work with hymn #324 which begins, “Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee,” and also to work with the current Independent Lesson Sermon. The ankle continued to make rapid improvement. That night I had a very peaceful night’s sleep. The next day I was completely healed, and even went for a bicycle ride.

Christian Science is a most effective agent in meeting our difficulties, and I am most grateful. I am also grateful for an important lesson I learned, as well — our only obligation is to God!
