Child Healed After Fall from Second-story Window

D.W. – Virginia

All that comes out of this church is so helpful and uplifting. A recent Bible Lesson made me think of a healing experience I would like to share. We have had many healings in our family, and although this occurred some years ago, it shows the practical value of staying close to God when raising a family. I had been asked to do some prayerful work for someone, which I did, and was writing them a letter, while our children played outside with some older neighborhood children. When I went out to check on them, I found that our little daughter had fallen off a second-story deck into a small rose bush.

I picked her up off the ground and immediately asked her whose child she was and who took care of her, to which she answered, “God.” She appeared to be dazed. I carried her into the house, laid her on my bed, and opened Science and Health at random to the page where it tells of a little girl who had listened to Mrs. Eddy’s explanations, and who had badly wounded her finger. She didn’t seem to notice, and when asked about it, said “It didn’t hurt a bit” and ran off to play.

That was just what I needed. The next moment, my little girl, who had crawled from the bed to the floor, asked me about a picture on my bedroom wall. I told her about it and said, “You have a picture in your bedroom; who’s in that picture?” At that, she jumped up, ran into her room, and started telling me all about Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. In less than half an hour, she was perfectly free and normal, with not a mark or scratch on her face — the marks had completely disappeared.

The doorbell rang, and my front stoop was filled with very frightened-looking children, who were thrilled to see that our daughter was perfectly fine. To complete the protection, after my husband returned home from work and both children sat on his lap and told him exactly what had happened, he didn’t react at all. It was as if he didn’t take in what they were saying, just listening in awe. Later, when I told him and asked him if he didn’t hear them, he said, “I could see that she was perfectly fine.” To say that I am grateful to have this Science in my life is an understatement, for it certainly is practical and can meet every need.
