Flu Symptoms Healed

I recently felt symptoms of a flu coming on, as we hit the so-called flu season. Before Christian Science I would have accepted flu as an inevitable part of life with all its stages of torment usually spanning two weeks. I now know our loving God never made anything to destroy or harm His own creation. I realised these symptoms were all wrong thinking wanting me to believe they meant I had the flu. I saw that these effects do not reside in my body but were mere suggestions that required my belief before I could actually experience them. We have a right and also a duty to express God’s perfect order for ourselves and our world, and in gratitude to God.

I also had some telltale symptoms of itchiness that morning, which, like the flu symptoms, were another belief trying to get under my skin, in order to attack my sense of identity and my peace. These spells often rely on idiotic metaphors, like “You are what you eat”, or “This is bugging me” as if it were possible to be dominated by a tiny bug or scrap of food instead of having God-given dominion over such things.

I knew this was not the “Word made flesh” (John 1:14) but an aggressive ignorance of God that departed instantly when the real knowledge of my true identity as a child of God, created by Him, was understood. In the space of fifteen minutes all these symptoms had fled. This proved that it was a delusion that never any reality in God’s Allness.
