Symptoms of Social Pragmatic Disorder and Autism Diminished Through Prayer

Alison, MA

I wanted to give my heartfelt gratitude to the Plainfield church, my practitioner, Mary Baker Eddy, and especially to God. My son was diagnosed with social pragmatic disorder when he was four. He just moved back from Boston after living in Europe. He doesn’t like to socialize much and often had impulse control and issues with what’s called executive functioning, he was also diagnosed on the cusp of autism. In addition he has never been athletic and wasn’t interested in sports he prefers to play on his computer and often times had difficulty being in conversation with others. At his 3-year IEP evaluation two weeks ago the school psychologist who was testing him in areas for autism for his social interaction flexibility of thinking self-regulation and executive functioning areas said that my son had scored above average for his age in all areas. This was so shocking to learn since just years ago he was behind for his age during the same meeting. Some of his new teachers that have had him for the first time commented how pleasant and how organized my son was. His advanced math teacher said he’s phenomenal and his special education teacher who had read his record last year was surprised that he was the same child. He was very well behaved acting appropriately in all social situations. Another thing my son has started to practice basketball on the driveway every day after school.

My son has become really interested in playing sports. Last weekend during his first game of the season he scored five points for the first time after playing for three years. The whole team was high fiving him and even his coach emailed his father to let him know how well he was playing. For the past year I’ve been listening to the Plainfield teachings and reading articles about healing testimonies on the Plainfield website also I’ve been listening to YouTube videos by Bicknell Young and some of the other teachings that Planfield has put out. Daily I remind myself that my son is in the care of a true Father-Mother God and in that kingdom my son could never be out of balance in his brain or body. I would start every morning praying to know the truth of my son as the strength of God having the mind of God, and he was showing the principle of God. I would declare that only Mind the only Mind governing him was divine Mind and it should not be mesmerized. I refused to be scared of his diagnosis instead trusted in God’s love for my son. Also anytime I saw something that appeared as inflexible thinking or issues with executive functions I would stop and understand that was mortal mind trying to mesmerize me. Immediately I would go back and see my son as a spiritual being made in the image and likeness of God governed by Divine mind only. I want to thank all the volunteers here at Plainfield for this amazing Church who put together the meetings every week effortlessly. I want to thank God especially for healing my son!
