Energy Restored Remembering Bible Promise
Bruce, NJ
One of the many blessings that I’ve gotten from this church here in Plainfield, is to read the inspired word of the Bible and the passages from Science and Health as if they were a vital part of my inward being, which they really are. The reason I mention this because in our lesson this week, there’s one passage from the Bible that says that the Lord’s “mercy endureth forever.” I can remember before coming to playing field reading that passage and thinking, “Oh, isn’t that a lovely thought?” But as you can imagine, if you approach it from that standpoint, it’s not going to do that much for you. But the requirement became that I read these sacred truths as if they were a vital part of me and of my necess and my I have a great need for doing so.
I can remember some time ago when I was doing some work and I was getting pretty tired and I wasn’t quite sure if I was going to make it all the way through. I happened to have remembered this one passage from the Bible. “His mercy endureth forever.” It’s repeated multiple times through the Old Testament. I thought, well, if God’s mercy is enduring forever, why don’t I just get right in line behind God and follow His great mercy and endure with it? And that’s what I did. Next thing you know, I felt happy again. I could feel a sense of refreshment and I carried on with the work until it was done. I got to believe that it was only the inspiration of almighty God that picked me up and carried me through. So I’m so thankful that his mercy endures through forever no matter what.
