Mother and Child Saved During Delivery Through Prayer
Elizabeth, NH.
I would like to express my gratitude for a healing that took place many years ago when my first daughter arrived. I had been in labor for many hours, and suddenly the doctor, very much in distress, told my husband, knowing that there was a Christian Science practitioner working, that he should call the practitioner. The doctor was very concerned that the bladder was obstructing the birth, and that both the baby and I were in grave danger. About that time, my mother had come to the hospital to see if the baby had arrived yet. Upon entering the room, the doctor announced “your mother is here, to which my mother said, “More importantly, the Christ is here,” meaning that the Christ truth was right there ever so powerful, in that very place where the lie seemed to be screaming, “its” supposed authority.
I recently asked my mother what she remembered of the situation from her perspective (being that it occurred over 40 years ago), she said, “Knowing that Elizabeth was fully taken care of as she had a Christian Science practitioner working for her pregnancy, I merely went in to see if the baby had come yet, and as I walked into the maternity area, the doctor. came out wiping his face with a towel, he said, ‘Are you the practitioner?’ I said, ‘No, I’m the mother.’ He said, ‘You had better call the practitioner quickly – the baby is ready to come, but the bladder is in the way, and if it doesn’t move, it will be fatal for mother and baby.’ I turned on my heel to find a telephone and then was made aware that Elizabeth had heard I was there. The nurse announced out loud ‘your mother is here.’ I realized there was nothing her ‘human mother’ could do but I could not leave without speaking to Elizabeth so I said ‘The Christ is here!’ and In a short time, it was found that the bladder had moved and the baby arrived, healthy and well.”
I was up within a couple of days, taking care of the household. Further, the child spoken of is and always has been a wonderful expression of Christly qualities. I am without words to express my sincere gratitude to God and Christian Science.
