Painful Foot Condition Healed

I am very grateful for God’s most kind and loving provision – for every step guiding us back to Him. Last week I hurt my foot quite badly. I have done something similar before, and God healed it, so I didn’t give it too much thought. But the next day it was hard to walk. From this position, I treated myself somewhat, not paying too much attention to it. It was a busy week, lots of work was going on, and error tried to make it seem hard to find the time I needed to spend grounding myself in God. Over the following days, the pain would appear, and then I would treat it through prayer, and it would disappear – and it was pretty much gone – until someone asked me about the way that I was walking that day – I was favoring one foot. In quick succession, a number of people made the same remark to me. I let this concept into my thought and pretty soon I realised I was actually limping – even though the pain had already been healed by God. It really was my laxity in taking it up seriously in prayer that seemed to make it appear again. The next day when I woke I could hardly walk. The pain was intense, and I could hardly put any weight on it. I was listening at the time to a favourite recording written by Bicknell Young where he says: “Do the work thoroughly and leave the rest to God.”

This really got my attention – had I really done the required prayer to successfully treat myself for foot pain? Then the roundtable this week came on – and by the time I had listened to it – three times in all – the pain was 90% gone. This was just after lunchtime here – and by dinner the pain had completely disappeared to its “native nothingness” as Mrs Eddy wrote. And it did not return. And no wonder we so love our Holy Mother in Christ Science for this powerful revelation – that we are composed of Spirit – hence Divine. Divine Science – Christian Science is always operating. God is always available – is always healing every single one of us in His Creation – as was drawn out so beautifully at Sunday’s Roundtable. But those are a most blessed people – those who know the True Christian Science of Mary Baker Eddy – we are most blessed indeed! For we are shown our dearest Father-Mother God – our eternal Parent – right here, right now, in this “mortal” existence. God’s Holy healing power is overthrowing pain, defeating sickness, sin, disease and death – just as it did in the time of Christ Jesus, the disciples and the early prophets. As was said at the Roundtable, there is nothing on earth like Christian Science. It is the complete and whole truth about God. And I thank God for it! Thank you, God! Thank you, Christ Jesus; thank Mary Baker Eddy for giving us Christian Science – so that we can use it actively with God’s dominion on this good earth!
