Son Healed of Seasonal Allergic Reaction

The other night, I was reminded of a healing that occurred about nine years ago. It wasn’t too long after I had discovered the Plainfield Christian Science Church, Independent. My son was going through some medical treatments for aggressive seasonal allergies. During the therapy, they would always watch him closely for any severe reaction. During one of our visits to the doctor, he had an allergic reaction, and they were very concerned for his breathing and sent us immediately to the emergency room. I contacted my Plainfield practitioner and let her know about the situation. What I mostly remember is the sense of calm and peace that came over both my son and me. It wasn’t long, but by the time the doctors were able to get us into the exam room, all the symptoms of a severe allergic reaction had diminished. We were sent home with instructions to follow if any more symptoms presented again. He was fine for the rest of that day, had a regular dinner, and slept well that night. He never had any allergic reaction like this ever again.

This was one of the early healings that I witnessed after spending many years without results in my practice of Christian Science before coming to Plainfield. To me, it was a profoundly meaningful experience that helped build my faith in God and sparked a desire to learn more, ultimately changing my life through the daily practice of Christian Science principles and a deeper understanding of the Bible.

I am grateful to Christ Jesus for His teachings, Mary Baker Eddy for Christian Science, my practitioner, and this church, and for all that I am learning about God, which brings me closer to Him.
