Delivery Issue Not Allowed to Interrupt Church Attendance

Mara, MS

I checked everywhere, around the house, the porch, even places it definitely could not be, and nothing. I called the company, and every few minutes, a new person came on the line, each one very eager to give us a refund. I kept explaining, as politely as possible, that while refunds are normally great, what we really needed was the part. This was quickly becoming time-consuming, unproductive, and just a little frustrating. Eventually, I got the tracking number and called our local delivery company. Before dialing, I paused and prayed. I realized I really had to change my thoughts about these workers. I was frustrated and thinking of them as incompetent and uncaring. I knew God was in charge and in control, and that these people were intelligent, capable, and genuinely wanting to help, because, just like me, they were reflections of God. I remembered a beautiful analogy from Christian Science literature: God is like the sun, and we are like the sun’s rays. We aren’t God, but we express His qualities. Just like the sun’s rays have the sun’s qualities.

After a few more conversations with the delivery company, the issue still wasn’t resolved. Apparently, the package had been delivered, just not to us. They were working to locate it, and meanwhile, church was about to start. I recently remembered learning three rules to overcome animal magnetism at another Roundtable discussion.

The rules are:
1 see what it is trying to do
2 know that it cannot be done
3  See that it is not done
 So …

At that point, I decided to leave the situation in God’s hands and not let it interfere with attending church or giving the testimony I had prepared. So I went to church, and I’m very glad I did! As soon as the service ended and I hung up, I noticed headlights outside. It was the delivery truck! I ran out and thanked the driver.  He was very nice and apologetic.
