God’s Care During Court Appearance

Jenna, Chile

I am really grateful to God for a court hearing that needed to happen right after I got back to Chile after a trip out of the country. I was feeling a little jumbled by the travel, the culture changes and starting a new job right when I got back. Right in the middle of all that I had this important court hearing that has been in process for over three years that included a lot of details I really had no idea how to sort out. I asked God what to do and He showed me. God insisted that I rent an AIRBNB in the same city as the hearing the night before. I am so glad I listened because if I wouldn’t have, I would have missed the hearing. Since I had been out of town, I was unaware that the country’s President was changing. And that this meant the new President would be arriving to his new office located right next to my court hearing on the same day as I needed to be there. There was an incredible traffic jam and the place I had been told to park had a large sign that said, “PARKING FULL.” It was exactly the time I was supposed to meet with the lawyer and I still had not parked. I said to God, “Yep, I still don’t know what to do.” And realized I had been given the general direction to go about thirty minutes before that at the time didn’t make sense but now it did. I turned left twice and found this entire street with no traffic jam. I passed a parking spot that looked too small for my car. I passed another parking spot that still looked too small. And then all of the sudden the most beautiful parking spot I have ever seen came into view. It was large enough to park in; it had no one pressuring as I parallel parked and it was even in the shade! I made it where I needed to be in five minutes.

The hearing required that I have two witnesses present. It occurred to me that my witnesses were having the same trouble as I had been having with parking and traffic. I decided quickly to give that to God. God takes us all the way. It turned out my witnesses had come together in the same car. The witness who was the passenger got out of the car and walked to the building where myself and the lawyer were waiting. My 1 witness, the lawyer and I went up into the building where the hearing began punctually while my second witness was still looking for parking.

I was delighted that the material read in the hearing took a minute or two longer than I expected. I was delighted when questioning my first witness took another few minutes. Then came the moment for witness number two to be questioned. The door was opened for her to enter the courtroom and there was a long silent pause of about one minute. Suddenly from down the hall I could hear the voice of my witness arriving. She walked into the hearing saying she was sorry for being late without realizing she had arrived the exact second her presence was needed. The hearing proceeded and went well.

In the past I would have been a wreck during this situation. But this time I was calm and even had a smile on my face. For this change I give all credit to God. To my Plainfield practitioner help I have been receiving. And also, to an article titled, “The Law of Right Feeling” by Rev. G. A. Kratzer. I may have looked calm on the outside. But on the inside, I had set up the largest security checkpoint at the door of my thought that did not allow a single thought or feeling pass that was not “peace, love, joy and confidence in good.” For two days before the hearing, I must have repeated to myself “peace, love, joy, confidence in good” a thousand times. And you know what? It worked.

Thank you, Plainfield Christian Science, Independent for the fine literature you make available. This literature is changing my life.
