Lost Cat Returns After Prayer
Stephanie, NH.
My daughter is 11 years old and struggles with anxiety, depression, and so forth. I do not know where I would be without Christian Science and this church. I am so grateful for your articles and watches for our children. I pray for all the parents out there too; “Enable us to know,— as in heaven, so on earth,— God is omnipotent, supreme.”* and that God is our Father-Mother, parenting over all His children. The days may seem hard, but I know there is always growth ahead.
I’m grateful to stay steadfastly in God’s goodness, which is ever-present. I would also like to read a testimony from my daughter, which she wrote when she was eight. She writes, “My cat has the homing instinct that cats display when finding their way home. Lucy was gone for 11 days, but then that 11th day, I prayed for her to come home, and then I heard her pawing at the door. Lucy was home, and I was so grateful!”
Our cat had been gone for 11 days, and I remember praying also that day and feeling a calm reassurance that nothing can be lost in God’s Kingdom. We were all so grateful when she came home. Thank you all for what you do at the Plainfield Church. *(Quote is from Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, page 17)
