Renter Problem Resolved
Tony – GA
Recently, I was in a situation where a set of renters brought too many cars and trailers. There was not going to be room for them. They called me that night and were not happy with the situation. I tried explaining the situation to them and finding some solutions, but I was also thinking, “I am having a problem with the neighbor again.” At this time, I could not set foot on their property. It was a difficult situation. At the time, they would find any excuse to be very ugly to my wife and me.
I gave him all the different options of things that he could do. I hung up with him and realized my first thought was not prayer. So, I corrected it. What came to me was that only good can come to me from my neighbor. That hatred is not part of God’s man. I have prayed for my neighbor so many times that they feel love and their heart be softened toward love. The prayer has really nothing to do with me. It is more for them and knowing the truth, of course, that all men are made in the image and likeness of God. “God saw all that he made, and behold it was very good.” (Genesis 1) Only good can come to everyone. I realized I was not going to be bullied by any feelings of anxiousness. I’ve learned here in this church that you have to pay close attention to your feelings.
I went to bed feeling peaceful and in my right mind. I woke up in the morning and decided to open a camera on my phone and see how the parking worked out. My heart sank when I saw they had parked their trailer on my neighbor’s property.
I decided to call him right away. And lo and behold, he said they ended up having a wonderful conversation with the neighbor, and they talked for 30 minutes. His neighbor offered them his property to park their cars. The joy I felt for everyone and for the love expressed. I had no idea how things were going to work out. I just held to the idea that only good can come.
