Miracle of Rain During Wildfires

B. S. – California

I live in Southern California, in what is called the high desert. I was very grateful to be able to call a practitioner from Plainfield to pray for wildfires in this area. I was given several things to work with. I was reminded that material existence is not what it appears to be, to put a blessing on the whole thing, and that “In atmosphere of Love divine, we live, and move, and breathe.” (Hymn No. 144) These thoughts helped me to lose the fear and anxiety, and to remember to radiate love to my fellow beings. Another thought to work with was also given to me from Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy: “There is no vapid fury of mortal mind — expressed in earthquake, wind, wave, lightning, fire, bestial ferocity — and this so-called mind is self-destroyed.” The wind and weather changes were peaceful and harmonious. We even had a bit of light rain late in the afternoon to clear the air of all the smoke, as well as cooling things down. Rain is very unusual here in October. It was amazing to watch all these miracles! I am very grateful to be a member of the Plainfield Church, where one can get real Christian Science help and see it work.
